"Milky" is the first picture book I illustrated, published in 2020 by the author, Maria Betsworth.
Maria works as an international board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) and with ‘Milky’ she wants to normalize all aspects of infant feeding, celebrate the many milk-making stories and most of all create a community in which milk-making is accepted and respected.
This inclusive book is aimed to teach young children about breastfeeding and pumping. They follow Marnie and Marlowe on their milky adventures as they explore the world of breastfeeding and pumping, and learn more about all the different milk-making journeys in the company of their new superhero friend, Milky.
I was happy to be a part of this project and contribute to Maria's mission through my illustrations. See some samples of the spreads below.
